Product Review- Shea Moisture JBCO Masque

Cost- $12 I purchased it from CVS but it it is widely available in stores such as Target and Walgreens

Claims/Blurb- This deep conditioning masque restores strength and resilience to damage, brittle or chemically processed hair. Perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Formulated with nutrient-rich Jamaican Black Castor Oil and certified organic Shea Butter to replenish moisture and soften while strengthening hair. Helps promote growth by supporting hair's elasticity, reducing the appearance of breakage and shedding.  Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience. Leave hair soft, manageable and shiny.

Ingredients- Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Stearyl Alcohol, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Behentrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Mauritia Flexuosa Fruit Oil, Yeast Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Vinegar, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3, Niacin, Dextran, Trifolium Pratense (Clover) Flower Extract, Caramel, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract *Certified Organic Ingredient

Pros- This is a thick easily spread product. You can use it on literally all hair types without batting an eye. The prominent ingredients in this masque are JBCO, Shea Butter, Peppermint and Keratin, what more can you ask for. Shea Butter conditions the hair and while  JBCO aids in healthy hair growth. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for better blood circulation and the Keratin strengthen the hair.

Cons- Ingredients list does not live up to there claims.  The three out of the four prominent ingredients falls so far down the list,  I am not sure how effective they are. For a product touting Jamaican Black Castor Oil, you should be able to see that ingredient at a glance.

My Take- It is very thick however very easy to apply, the one draw for me initial was the smell .  However after a few use I got use to the scent it really didn;t notice it anymore.  The color is a little odd but you have to taken in consideration that Shea marry Castor. This masque truly conditions and the effects last through my next wash day even though I exercise five times per week.  This will become a staple in my arsenal.

Have you used this masque, if so what is your take?
